Catalyst
The Catalyst 45 was originally designed by Morrelli & Melvin in 2013 as a high-performance support boat for the Emirates Team New Zealand America’s Cup campaign. Salthouse Boatbuilders were commissioned to build this 45ft, 1200hp tender to the highest standards.
The Catalyst is a highly adaptable design that excels as a support/chase boat and as a high-end luxury resort or superyacht tender, and has been produced in a range of sizes from 40 to 53ft.
When the decision was made to downsize Salthouse Boatbuilders, a new home had to be found for the construction of the next generation of Catalyst tenders. Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders was an obvious choice with over 40 years’ experience in the custom boat business and their reputation for quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Since 2020, production at Lloyd Stevensons has been in full swing and Greg Salthouse is always on hand with his knowledge and input when required.
