The founder of Salthouse Boatbuilders ltd
John was a modest gentleman who, despite years of evidence to the contrary, would never have admitted to being a boatbuilder of great talent. John founded Salthouse Boatbuilders in Greenhithe in 1956 and through hard work and a true love of boats, John not only built a legacy in the marine industry, but also a wealth of lifelong friendships with owners, boatbuilders, designers and all those who enjoyed his quiet humour, gentlemanly manner and hard work ethic whilst building over 400 boats during his lifetime. John is sorely missed, but we all rejoice that so many of the boats he built are still sailing the blue seas he loved so much.
